Gmat verbal section
The Verbal Section on the Gmat consists of 41 questions.The time allotted to complete the verbal section is 75 minutes.When you receive your Gmat score card the verbal section score is scaled from 0-60.

The questions in the verbal section can be broadly classified into one of the following types

a)Reading comprehension
The verbal section will have on an average 14-15 questions on reading comprehension.Each of the passages given will have an average length of 300 words. Each passage usually has 3-4 questions

b)Sentence correction
The verbal section will have on an average 14-15 questions on sentence correction. A sentence correction question on the Gmat looks like a long/short sentence which is either fully or partially underlined. The underlined part needs to be improvised. The first option is the same as the question, meaning you select this if you believe, the sentence in the question has no mistakes.

c)Critical reasoning
The verbal section will have on an average 14-15 questions on critical reasoning.The questions usually has a short passage, which is followed by either one or two questions.The instructions to solve the question, are provided with the question. These questions deal with reasoning,arguments,assumptions,conclusion.For eg. Some facts would be stated, and a conclusion would be stated, and the correct answer involves choosing a fact that would contradict the conclusion.
